What do abnormal values ​​mean?

The bone marrow is responsible for the production of all blood cells, so if this organ functions less effectively, it affects multiple cell types simultaneously.

An isolated low basophil value is rarely conclusive on its own. Doctors always review the result in conjunction with other blood values ​​and with the patient's symptoms and medical history.

Value too high

An increased number of basophils can indicate an allergic reaction. The immune system plays a major role in allergies, and basophils contribute to the reaction that is triggered.
